Our Mission

When a safety-related incident occurs at a mine site, a quick response by a well-trained team increases the odds of a positive outcome. Having individuals ready and prepared to handle whatever disaster they may be facing is essential for the safety of all miners. That’s why we formed the Tennessee Mine Rescue Association. Our mission is to train and support the efforts of mine rescue teams across the state of Tennessee.

What does that mean? We provide and teach mine rescue skills, advanced rescue techniques, firefighting training, and first aid knowledge to mining companies and contractors so that you’re prepared to effectively respond to any hazardous situation that may occur at a mine site.
